At the core of an integral awakened politics is its freedom to create a society where we become whole humans, people of all four quadrants, who embrace all of life in this wholeness. We also build this politics from the best of what has gone before.
From sustained work in this area, integral awakening for politics turns out to be a reset on the level of political thinking or political philosophy. The old political philosophies no longer work. And people know this. They can see a politics which doesn’t match the realities and doesn’t speak to them and their lives as they are today.
In this session we can appreciate success in finding ways to take integral thinking into American politics. Also why integral awakening is not about jumping into immediate political realities, forming a new party, or putting forward new kinds of policies. It turns out to be far more fundamental. There is learning to be had from past experiences which worked on this fundamental level and did change politics.
We can end with three things that would seem essential to moving forward with an awakened integral foundation for politics.

I`ve practiced Buddhism in the Nichiren tradition, within the SGI (Soka Gakkai International) movement for 46 years. I chant Nam-myoho-renge-kyo every morning to ground the entire day.
In this tradition the 9th consciousness is the pure cosmic life force of the universe, permeating all realities including our lives. Chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo is activating this connectedness: the mutually inclusive relationship of life and all phenomena. This goes far beyond the duality of action and reflection, bringing possibilities into being that have deeper connections with us and others. You can experience the effects of chanting for yourself as you go through the day.
The 9th consciousness is deeper than karma (8th consciousness). Activating this `greater self` purifies the limited self (7th consciousness), and thinking mind (6th consciousness) as well as the 5 senses (5 consciousnesses).
