Deconcentration is a powerful contemplative technique first developed in the later period of consciousness research in USSR; it has correlations with both advanced shamatha-like and open-awareness states practiced in major meditative traditions. We have incorporated deconcentration as an essential part of Integral Awareness Meditation (IAM) as well as a useful tool for Integral Psychotherapy. Deconcentration, being a reliable method of building expansive spatial and temporal state of awareness, can be used in contemplative development through state-stages, communication skills enhancement, individual and group psychotherapy, subtle-energy work, learning as well as in a wide range of other human activities (from sports to programming). If skillfully applied, it produces continuous flow states with enhanced metacognitive self-awareness. An explanation & experiential exercise will be offered to participants.

In this Integral Awareness Meditation (IAM) experience we will dive into essentials of expansive contemplation that allows you to integrate deeper states of consciousness (including flow & non-dual states) with everyday activities—such as not just your personal meditation practice but also work, interpersonal communication, and group energy field awareness. You’ll explore thoughts, feelings, sensations, and visions related to each major consciousness structure enfolded into your own being and how it manifests in the shared relational We-space. Our sensory perception, body felt-sense, feelings, and cognitions can form a coherent experiential Wholeness. This IAM process is a delicate experiential container for self-liberation of individual and groups in the non-dual field of primordial awareness. We will be learning to embody transpersonal consciousness in our experience of relating to each other, being mindful of subtle-energy fluctuations.
