After studying Business Administration (MSc) at the University of Groningen I had two jobs before entering the field of training, coaching and consulting. I started at a multinational company DSM in a job combining marketing, logistics and HR from 1992 to 1996. Then I had a job doing consultative selling to international customers in the plastics industry, managing a team of marketeers and internal sales people from 1996 until the end of 1999. I started my career as a consultant and trainer for Krauthammer International on 1-1-2000 and was a senior partner in this international training, coaching and consulting firm until 2012. When co-founding a boutique consultancy, training and coaching firm ‘The Thrive’ in 2012 with 4 other (senior) partners of Krauthammer I had my first exposure to Spiral Dynamics evolutionary theory and we were offering experiential ‘whole person’ learning journeys to customers in the Netherlands, the rest of Europe, USA and Asia.
Personally I went on a transformation journey involving energy work, family & organisational constellations and other systemic work, and I started to integrate that in the ‘whole person’ learning journeys with customers. We offered (and I still offer) leadership development, team development and organisational development based on the principle of teaching, coaching and training people to ‘Do It Yourself’ in the integration stage of development programs.
I joined another boutique consulting firm ‘People Change’ in 2017 to integrate another passion: measuring the progress and effect of leadership, team and organisational development journeys with a Spiral Dynamics based change scan (People Change scan) and applying these development programs, scans and the Practitioner trainings to bring organisations to the ‘DIY’ stage.
In 2022 I founded my own firm ‘TER HOFTE TRANSULTANCY’ based on the principle of immediately starting this ‘DIY’ stage and educating leaders, consultants and people from the younger generations (our leaders of the future) to become certified ‘change catalysts and transultants’ in their own firms or offering ‘change transultancy’ to clients.

My Purpose and Values:
Do-It-Yourself change. I facilitate and train leaders and professionals to strengthen the change capabilities of teams and organisations. I belief that teams-in-flow are the building blocks of organisations-in-flow. This starts with building co-creative relations, developing these relations with equivalence, appreciation and awareness of everyone’s growth potential and capacity for change. My Purpose: systemic strengthening of the autonomous change capabilities of teams and organisations
My Talent and Passion:
My talent and passion is to create the psychological safety that is the foundation for team development. This causes people to be open, trust each other and engage in a dialogue to break through ineffective patterns in collaboration and communication. As a result everyone experiences the space and freedom to introduce one’s own uniqueness (talents, values and passion). And the team and the organisation can capitalise on these unique qualities because people are going to do what they are good at in a way that suits their talents and values – teams and organisations enabling ‘sweet spotting’. The effect is that the team culture can evolve in the desired direction.
My Roles, Ambition and Approach:
I am educated in business management and trained as a trainer/facilitator and as a coach. Next to this I am educated and trained as a change expert. I call myself a ‘transultant’ because I train people to become change coaches and change facilitators of teams in my learning program (“leergang”) ‘strategic leadership for sustainable change’ that takes place twice per year for over 3 years now.
My experience includes more than 24 years of design and delivery of leadership, team and organisational development programs for multinationals, SME (small and medium enterprises) and organisations in the public sector (from universities to municipalities, the police and healthcare organisations).
In the past 10 years I facilitated leaders and professionals to kickstart cultural change by leadership and team development. In my roles as coach, facilitator and change expert I work with Spiral Dynamics based change scans (mostly ‘ME+U’), train skills and identify mindsets enabling leaders to develop themselves and their teams. My Purpose: facilitate autonomous change in teams and organisations. Training people to eventually facilitate and coach others in change (DIY change).
