Contributing Effectively in Times of Crisis

We are all painfully aware of the many dangers facing our societies and our world, and this awareness naturally calls forth a desire to contribute. As integral practitioners, we know that optimal contributions need to be multidimensional: considering all quadrants, and encouraging not only outer social change but also inner psychological and spiritual healing and maturation that is both individual and collective. The key questions for each of us then become, “What can I do?” and “What are my optimal contributions?” In this workshop, participants will use multiple methods—including guiding principles, guided meditation, visualization, reflection, and dialogue—to explore these questions and to find their own unique, strategic contributions.

Roger Walsh MD, PhD, DHL is a psychiatrist, a professor of psychiatry, philosophy, and anthropology at the University of California, and a lama in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition.
