To heal our world, we need to shift the paradigm of how and why we work together to something that is more human and whole.

How do we develop new models of working together to meet the challenges of our time? How do spiritual groups and nonprofits get more functional? How do businesses get more heart and soul?

In this talk, I draw on 20 years as a co-founding member at Clear Sky Retreat Center – a “living lab”, conscious integral community and non-profit organization. I contrast this with 25 years executive experience, along with experiments co-creating IBM’s mindfulness community that grew to over 10,000 members in 30+ countries, and creating and leading a global mindfulness programs at SS&C Technologies that trained about 2500 employees.

Using these real-life case studies at Clear Sky Center, IBM, SS&C I propose a “sky map” for the integral organization of the future. Healthy, human and integral organizations that combine the depth and awareness of wisdom traditions, the passion and engagement of non-profits and the efficiency and innovation of business.

The spiritual life – and any profound change process – needs a strong container of supportive conditions.

Even with a meditation practice, you may feel disconnected or that your efforts aren’t bridging the gap between your actions and vision. Especially in this time of meta-crisis, you may struggle to hold your center with the fracturing around you, and to show up with the compassion and clarity you want.

Clear Sky’s Five Principles of an Integral Container is a unique approach which addresses your inner world (UL), your external environment (UR), relationships/community (LL), and systems (LR) that influence your well-being and resilience.

This interactive workshop is a synthesis of practical tools and awareness practices. Learn how to create your own supportive container using our five principles – tried and tested for 20 years.

The workshop is designed to foster lasting change, strengthen your meditation, build connection, and transform your environment into a sanctuary of growth.

Aimed to support heart-centered explorers, the workshop help foster lasting change, strengthen your meditation, build connection, and transform your environment into a sanctuary of growth.

Discover how our Integral experiences in conscious community can empower your own Integral development, personally and in community. Two decades ago, I co-founded Clear Sky, a transformative meditation-based retreat center in British Columbia, Canada. Alongside our predominantly Buddhist spiritual practices, our dozen residents plus our larger visiting and virtual communities have embraced Integral Spirituality and Theory to redefine “spiritual awakening” or Waking Up in the 21st century. I invite you to explore how we’ve leveraged Integral resources to foster individual and community Growing Up. We’ve focused on cultivating a balanced approach through all four quadrants, and supporting one another to progress through stages of development. Our tradition excels in integrating the shadow (Cleaning Up). Join us for engaging small-group exercises and breakouts to spark your own insights and strengthen our IEC community. We’ll also hear from Clear Sky residents Karen McAllister, Duncan Cryle and Erika Rasmussen. To learn more, visit clearskycenter.org and planetdharma.com.

Can grand Western theories of human, social and cultural development such as AQAL and SD become ossified (frozen)? A view from the observation deck:
Much is powerful and illuminating in these theories. Yet they are no longer open to new data and alternative perspectives. They have become so widely distributed, they are now set in stone, inflexible like fossils. I shall show that this issue may have much to do with the early equating of stages of cultural, social and organizational development with stages of individual development. This assumption resulted in a conflation of personal and cultural-social development and a set of strange, unscientific use of colors.

Susanne has been keynote speaker at the first IEC in 2014, as well as 2018, and offered section presentations as well, at most in person and online conferences. This year she is not well enough to travel but will contribute her wisdom via zoom.

Lily Truong and Duncan Cryle will create a dialogue space for her in a hybrid format so that participants can reflect on her challenging ideas.

To help Dr. Cook-Greuter address your questions during the Q&A session (scheduled on May 29 from 15:30 to 18:00 CEST), and to help facilitators enhance your experience during that event, we invite you to share your questions ahead of time (please click here to access the form)Facilitators will stop collecting questions via this form before lunch time at 13:30 CEST on May 29, 2025. And of course, we welcome your questions during the live event.
