SCHNEIDER, Meli

United States / Colombia / Germany

Meli serves as Organizational Development Manager at the Center for Spiritual Imagination, whose primary project is the Community of the Incarnation—a New Monastic community living as monks in the world through rhythms of prayer, ongoing conversion of life, and response to the cry of the poor and the earth. She recently took her final vows as a New Monk, committing to a lifelong Christian contemplative Rule of Life.

Drawing from her MA in Psychology from Columbia University’s Spirituality Mind-Body Institute, Meli integrates contemplation, developmental theory, and embodied practice in her work at the Center, as well as in her role as an Integral Professional Coach. Since 2020, she has supported visionary entrepreneurs and healers across business, education, and the nonprofit sector in navigating complex, spiritually rich evolutionary edges.

Welcome to an embodied expression of integrally-informed Christian contemplative practice, offered by the Center for Spiritual Imagination. This session introduces the Incarnation Method of Prayer, a guided journey through embodied “movements” including breath awareness, compassion, intercession through the four quadrants, walking meditation, the Jesus Prayer, and silence. The chants used in this practice are recorded at our founding church, the Cathedral of the Incarnation in Long Island.

Unlike approaches that rush to silence and risk bypassing emotional or psychological realities, this method honors the whole person—body, mind, heart, and spirit. Informed by Integral Theory and New Monastic wisdom, it invites you to show up just as you are and be held in the loving presence of God. Within this space, we trust the Divine Therapist to heal, restore, and integrate all that longs for wholeness—personally and collectively.
