Awakening includes the process of individuation by which we evolve from a system, culture, stage or state into higher consciousness. This process includes the experience of loss, whether ego death, loss of relationships, beliefs, structures or ways of relating to the world. Loss is inherent in human development.
Grief is a natural reaction to loss while also being spiritually transformative in its nature. This human experience is not just relegated to death, but to all forms of loss we experience in our lives, including spiritual awakening and the evolution of the planet.
It is deeply intimate, personal and spiritual while at the same time being profoundly universal. It has the power to reconnect and heal us in a deeply loving, heart-centered way.
Often left out of the conversation, grief becomes a mystery and the experiences of psychic change can feel scary or difficult to understand. As we awaken and realize that we are more like nature than we realized, it is crucial to reintegrate not only our relationship to grief, but the ways we believe the psyche works.
This presentation gives an overview of a nature based model of the spiritually transformative nature of grief and its role in the awakening process.
