The meta-crisis we are going through casts an enormous shadow and uncertainty over the meaning and configuration of Work. And this theme is fundamental since it is one of the main elements connecting the micro-world of individuals with the macro-world of organizations and politics. Work directly affects Integral health, as well, the global economy and geopolitics.
It is understanding the meaning that people attach to Work and correlating it with levels of consciousness may give us clues as to how this relationship may evolve and how we can direct efforts toward developing new societal arrangements that are coherent with the emergence of evolution.
I will present an experiment conducted in Brazil that intersects a topography of narratives about the meaning of Work, using Sensemaker® (The Cynefin Co.) and Shifting Horizons (the latest assessment tool of action-logic stages), and present hypotheses and findings raised by our team.
